DSI's Customer Conference was held May 18-20, 2008 at the Grand Geneva Resort located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The conference started on with a relaxing dinner cruise around the beautiful Lake Geneva. This gave our customers an opportunity to mingle between each other.
Monday began early starting with the opening session with Ryan and Sherrie Mertes discussing the current and future situations at DSI. We then held our Operations and Management/Executive Tracks throughout the day. Sessions included Federal Order, Pooling, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma concepts, and Dairy Cost Accounting. At lunch we had a guest speaker from Comedy Sports discuss the importance of laughter in our lives and workplace. Thanks to our very own Peggy Tegtmeyer for volunteering and providing us with stomach hurting laughs.
Monday night's dinner was a special event for DSI. We were honored to present awards to Baker Cheese (St. Cloud, WI) and Wapsie Valley Creamery (Independence, IA) for being a customer for over 25 years. Comedy Sportz also provided additional comedy entertainment that evening. Thanks to Vern Spaulding (DSI) and Christina Roller (Tillamook Cheese) for getting up on stage.
During the entire conference, a wii competition was held. We had people showing up in the lab at 7:00 am to play!! Congratulations to all our competition winners and also to Linda Wulff with Stockton Cheese winning the drawing to take home the wii.
