Manufacturing Suite - Production Scheduling

Data Specialists, Inc.’s Scheduling application is aimed at plant managers and purchasing agents trying to get a better handle on when demand for raw materials and saleable items is going to require action and how that demand should be fulfilled.

Based on user criteria, the Scheduling application calculates demand for each item.  The scheduling application takes into account several factors such as on hand inventory, transit stock, expected receipts, and safety stock.

If demand is greater than the supply, planned purchases and production, entries are created in the schedule based on the type of item in question.  Production and purchasing lead times are taken into account so the planned production and purchases can be performed in the appropriate period.  If demand is to be fulfilled via production, thatdemand is then broken down to account  for the additional demand on raw materials.

Advanced users will appreciate the use of XML and XSL to generate the schedule in HTML format and will easily be able to modify the basic appearance of their schedules.  Not only that, but the HTML formatted plans can be viewed in any browser and easily published to the web.

 In addition:

  • Demand not filled prior to the start date of a schedule is marked with red asterisks
  • Filtering allows the user to control the plan information they see by transaction type and item
  • Plans can be printed using your brower's print functionality
  • A basic browser is built into DSI's Scheduling application
  • Reports allow a manager to compare a schedule with the actual production for the same date range
  • Supports scheduling of Dairy Liquids
